Matt Cohen Set To Make General Hospital Return

In case you were worried about the number of sexy General Hospital doctors taking a fall in numbers recently, get ready because Matt Cohen is bringing Dr. Griffin Munro back to Port Charles shortly.

According to the December 16 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Cohen is checking back into General Hospital to offer his expertise on a case — probably for his former med school pal, Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes), who was recently hospitalized with a brain injury after a terrible car accident. Griffin just so happens to be a neurosurgeon.

Look for Griffin to cross paths with some familiar faces, including former flame Ava (Maura West). She’s going through a horrible time ever since Kiki’s (Hayley Erin) murder last year, which also upset Griffin quite a bit since he was in love with Kiki at the time.

Griffin also has a lot to catch up on in the life of his good pal, Anna (Finola Hughes). She’s engaged to Finn (Michael Easton), who Griffin was friends with, and now they are raising his daughter Violet (Jophielle Love). There are more people Griffin may want to check in on and it will be interesting to see how much ground the show wants to cover.

It sounds like this is probably only a short visit, but who knows? Cohen did just accept a new gig at Entertainment Tonight, where he’ll serve as a full-time correspondent and will co-anchor ET’s weekend show.

That’s not the only place you can see the rising star. He’ll also be appearing in a rare thing — a Hannukkah (sort of) film on Hallmark. It’s called Holiday Date, and he’ll be playing a Jewish man (not a stretch for the Jewish actor!) who is pretending to be someone else to help out a gal who was dumped right before taking her boyfriend to meet her family at Chrismas.

You can see the handsome actor star in that film on Saturday, December 14 at 8 p.m. As for when we’ll see him back on GH, stay tuned. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
